Mauro De Santis

Tenor Mauro De Santis, born in Frosinone, graduated in opera singing at the Licinio Refice Conservatory in Frosinone in 2004-2005 and then studied at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome in 2012-2013 with Maestro Giuseppe Sabbatini.
He studied with different masters: Giovanni Charpelletti, Anna Bella Rossi, etc., and then came to his technical point of view Cristina Piperno.
In the first years of his studies, in 2000, he performed Kurt Weill's ‘The Threepenny Opera’.
And several musicals playing the lead roles:
- Temple of Criticism in 2002.
- Otello and Desdemona in 2003.
- Puccini's Paradise in 2004-2005.
He has performed at various theatres in Frosinone and Rome, Nestor, Flaviano and others.
As a soloist he has performed: Schubert's Mass in G major; Mozart's ‘Short and Solemn Mass in C major’ and Giuseppe Bozzotti's ‘Mass’; L. Perosi's Mass ‘Te Deum Laudamus’, Mozart's Requiem, ‘The Last Words of Jesus on the Cross of Hamilcar’ in the main cathedrals of Italy.
He collaborated with the Giuseppe Verdi Choir in 2003, performing a benefit concert for third world children at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, the same concert was repeated at the Argentine Theatre in Rome, where he performed with Albano Carisi and Peppino di Capri.
He sang in 2008 at San Pietro in the Vatican to celebrate the arrival of the Abbot of Monte Cassino.
In 2010 he conducted a conference on opera singing at the University of Rome La Sapienza.
He has worked with several conductors: Pappano, Visioli, Zambelli, Menicagli, Conlon, Aiizza, Di Lauro, Roverelli, Cheung, Gatti, among others.
In 2007 he played the role of Jesus in Franz Joseph Haydn's opera ‘The Last Seven Words of Christ on the Cross’ with the MuSa Orchestra and the choir of the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, supporting various performances in different theatres and cathedrals, the first performance took place in Rome inside the Pantheon, enjoying great success with the public and critics alike.
Performed roles in operas: Traviata ‘Alfred’ by G. Verdi; in Aida ‘Il Messaggero’ by G. Verdi; in Il Troubador ‘Ruiz’ by G. Verdi; Marquis in the opera ‘Revella’ by A. Giuliani, in 2013 Rinuccio in the opera ‘Gianni Schicchi’ by G. Puccini in Siena;
in 2015 Fritz in the opera Fritz by P. Mascagni in Siena,
2012 Federico in F.Cilea's opera Arlesiana in Genoa, Rodolfo in G.Puccini's opera La bohème, Pepicek in Hans Krasa's opera Brundibár
2017 in Rome and Viterbo,
in 2019 and Ruggiero in G.Puccini's ‘Rondina’ in Frosinone and Rome.
Participated in the Festival of Two Worlds in a performance of Mozart's ‘That's what everyone does’.
From 2017 to 2019 he collaborates with Maestro Ennio Morricone( Ennio Morricone) , giving several concerts in Italy and Europe, Arena di Verona, Caracalla, Rome, Lucca, Florence, Parma, Milan, Switzerland, Nimes, France, where he will meet and collaborate with several artists ‘Succhero Fornachari. ‘ etc.
From 2019 to 2022 he gave numerous recitals in Poland, ‘Lublin, Katowice, Poznan, Szczecin, Kraków, Gdansk, Warsaw’, enjoying great success and will also be guest of honour as tenor in the programme ‘Zen Good’.
In 2022 he was summoned to the Philandia in Helsinki for a recital in honour of Beniamino Gigli.
In October 2023, he and the group ‘Italian Romantic Tenors’ will take part in a tour of cities and the Baltic States.
In April 2024, with the group Romantici Tenori Italiani, he took part in concerts in Moscow (‘House of Music’) and Kazan.
In November 2024, he will give solo concerts the Romantic Tenors Italians group is on tour to cities in the Russian Federation, Moscow, Stavropol and cities in Crimea.
In 2024 he gave a Christmas concert at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia.

He has given numerous concerts of opera, sacred music and romances in Italy, Europe and abroad.
