He studied with his uncle, baritone Ludovico Malavasi, and has also taken lessons from renowned singers such as soprano Renata Scotto and tenor Luciano Pavarotti and Alfredo Krauss.
Gianluca Paganelli is an operatic tenor who has mastered both the discipline of opera and the world of classical crossover.
In 2010, Gianluca won the Italian national talent show ‘I Raccomandati’ on Rai1 with over 6,000,000 viewers.
Paganelli is currently achieving success in England with the release of his compact disc ‘Tango’, introducing this new style of classical and pop singing. The album was launched at a press conference during ‘UK Marriage Week’ at Westminster in London,where Gianluca was introduced and interviewed in the presence of MPs, in the House of Commons. Thanks to this national platform and sponsorship from world renowned ‘Strictly come dancing’ judge Len Goodman, the album created a furore in the UK from that moment on, the reputation of the classical artist in Britain took hold and he was invited as a guest on numerous radio shows and appeared on television on BBC and ITV, for example in a radio interview with renowned journalist Maureen Walsh for a Sunday broadcast in Merseyside.
National and specialist magazines and newspapers such as the Daily Mail and Sunday Times covered the release of his album and featured him as a future star.
His many fans were delighted to see him perform on tour in 2011 and 2012 with famous artists such as The Soldiers and then Hayley Westenra, with whom he sang some famous hits taken from his crossover repertoire, including ‘Time to say goodbye’ and ‘Vivo per lei’. In addition to these songs, he performed a number of tunes from his album Tango: ‘No other love’ Blue spanish eyes, ‘La Cumparsita’, ‘Jealousy’ and ‘El choclo’.
These tours have taken him to some of the UK's most prestigious venues including Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and Sage Gateshead in Newcastle, with audiences of over five thousand at each show.
The tenor is a frequent guest at sporting matches, including the prestigious Six Nations in Tuikenham, London.

With a classical education honed in his homeland of Italy, Gianluca has already very much made a name for himself in the home of opera with successful releases to date as well as TV appearances and film roles.

In 2017 he gave a recital in Kazakhstan with the Pavlodar Philharmonic Orchestra, the concert was broadcast on national television and it was a great success.
In 2015 Gianluca was in China, on TV CCN Xian, as a guest, for the big concert ‘La via della seta’ with the famous soprano Hongmei Ni.
Gianluca gave a concert in Rome (Parco della Musica) in 2017, performing Franco Micalizzi's most important hits such as ‘L'ultima neve di primavera’, ‘Trinity’, etc.
Gianluca is tenor in ‘Lo Stabat Mater’, a rock symphonic opera, won the Rome Video Clips prize, Indie section.
In 2020 he is recording an album entitled: ‘Sono nato cantando’ with the most important hits of Mohammedan Franco Simone and concerts all over the world.
In 2019, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Kazakhstan, he gave an opera concert in Pavlodar (23 April), organised together with the local Governor's Administration at the Baisakov Philharmonic Hall.
The concert was welcomed by the public with approval and satisfaction.

In October 2023, he and the group ‘Italian Romantic Tenors’ will take part in a tour of cities and the Baltic States.
In April 2024, with the group Romantici Tenori Italiani, he took part in concerts in Moscow (‘House of Music’) and Kazan.
In November 2024, he will give solo concerts the Romantic Tenors Italians group is on tour to cities in the Russian Federation, Moscow, Stavropol and cities in Crimea.
